TOUR OVERVIEW

This tour's one significant advantage is that we will discover western Mongolian three beautiful Uvs, Bayan- Ulgii, and Khovd provinces. Every province has its beauty; as for Uvs province, its highest point in the territory is the Kharkhiraa peak, its altitude being 13,123 feet (4,000 m.) above sea level. There are many big and small lakes in the province, such as Khyargas, Khar Us, Achit, Uureg, and Uvs; Uvs is the largest lake in Mongolia.

Bayan-Ulgii province, Bayan-Ulgii is a far-off land of high mountains (the Mongol Altai - Tavan Bogd mountains with 4,373 m peak) torrents and glaciers, inhabited by Kazakh.

A minority with a different culture from the Mongols, herding yaks and goats and hunting with trained eagles.

Bayan-Ulgii aimag is situated in the extreme West of Mongolia; on the West and North, it borders the Russian Federation and the southwest with the People's Republic of China.

The ethnic groups who call Bayan-Olgii home comprise the Kazakh Khalkha. Durvud, Uriankhai and Tuva. Unlike the rest of Mongolia, which the Khalkha Mongols dominate. About 90% of Bayan-Ulgii's population is Kazakh, and almost all are Muslim. The remaining 10% are primarily obscure minority groups.

The mix of desert rock, salt lake, snowy peaks, and Kazakh culture makes Khovd one of Mongolia's most beautiful and appealing aimags.

Day 1. Arrival day / City Tour (L)

On this day, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel***.
If you want, you can rest for a while, and then we will start a city tour.
We will visit
- Mongolian National History Museum and Chinggis khan main square

- Chinggis Khan museum
- Gandan-Tegchlen Monastery
- Zaisan Hill memorial, from which you can see the whole city. After that, we will see the Mongolian traditional folk concert at 6 pm and have Dinner / Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2. Fly to Ulaangom Uvs province-Drive to Khyargas lake (B/L/D)

This morning, after having breakfast, we will take you to Chinggis Khan International Airport to fly to Uvs province, where you will fly for about 2 hours. Over there, you will be welcomed by our guide and driver, and you will visit the local museum.

That drive to Khyargas Lake, a saltwater lake located 110 km from Ulaangom, a central town of Uvs province.

The lake and its surrounding 332.800 ha protected area were established as a nature reserve in 2000. The lake is 75 km long and 31 km wide, with a surface area of 1481 км². The average depth is 50 m and 80 m at its deepest. Overnight at a tent on the shore of the lake.

Day 3. Drive to Uureg Lake (B/L/D)

Today, we will drive to Uureg Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Mongolia. The lake stretches over 19.5km for 18km width for a 65.5 km shoreline length. On the way, we will see Kharkhiraa and Turgen Mountain overnight in a tent.

Day 4. Drive to Bayan-Olgii province (B/L/D)

This morning, after having breakfast, we will go to Bayan-Ulgii province—Discover Bayan-Ulgii province and overnight in a hotel.

Day 5. Drive to Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain (B/L/D)

Today, we will drive to Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain, a Mongolian protected area with snow-capped peaks to the north of the Mongol Altai Mountains.

We will go to the President's ovoo and then walk to see Altai Tavan Bogd. At the beginning of the trip, we will get acquainted with the petroglyphs of Tsagaan Salaa and Baga Oigar and enter a specially protected area overnight in a tent.

Day 6. Drive to Khoton and Khurgan lake (B/L/D)

Today, we will drive to Khoton and Khurgan Lakes. Along the way, you will see a stone statue of a deer and Tsagaan Gol and Balbal mausoleums. On this day, we will visit Baga Tergen waterfall in Khoton and Khurgan lakes. In the evening, spend the night in the Kazakh national ger, where there are Khoton and Khurgan lakes.

Day 7. Drive to Bayan-Ulgii province (B/L/D)

Today, we will drive to Sagsai soum, visit a Kazakh herder's house, get acquainted with life, and take a commemorative photo with eagle hunters. We will have traditional Kazak food. Then we will come to Ulgii and stay in a hotel.

Day 8. Drive to Khovd province (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we will drive to Khovd province to discover Khovd city and go to Gurvan Senkher cave, one of the nine wonders of Mongolia, located in Mankhan soum Khovd province. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 9. Fly to Ulaanbaatar city

Today, we fly to Ulaanbaatar city. If you want, we will be able to do some shopping, and then we will see a traditional Mongolian folk concert at 6 pm. The show lasts for 1 hour. A farewell dinner/transfer to the hotel***.
