This morning, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Aglag Buteeliin Khiid Monastery, located on the rocky, wooded mountainside 100 km northwest of Ulaanbaatar. When you arrive at the temple, the first thing you see is blue, white, and orange stupas representing the Mongolian three deities of the Root. A Blue stupa represents the Ochirvaani deity, who protects Mongolian land and people; a white stupa represents the Janraisag deity, who protects people from suffering and danger; and an orange one represents the Manzushir deity, who honors the mind. Sustainable travel

There is a paved road until the mountain skirt and a hiking trail to the temple. There are symbols of the temple’s protective deities made from a unique arrangement of rocks and stones, resembling animals from Buddhist legends. 2 natural rocks sticking out of the ground, inside and outside the temple, were discovered as people began building the temple's foundation. Sustainable travel

They left those rocks as they were because a sudden wildfire arose when they tried to cut and remove them, and they thought it was nature’s warning not to affect those rocks. Fairytale-like animals in this temple were made by G.Purevbat, who had the idea of building this temple. He used his collections of nature’s uniquely shaped rocks, tree roots, and other unique things to create the animals he first saw in his meditation dreams. Sustainable travel

On the second floor of the temple, there is a museum called Strange Things. You can see Purevbat’s collection of strange animals and absolute exhibits in the museum. For example, there is an anaconda’s skin, a giant crocodile’s skin, the skull of a unicorn, a four-horned ram, six-horned antelopes, a one-horned mountain goat, six horned hogs, 5-headed fish with their description of where they were found. After visiting the temple and the museum, travelers can hike by the hiking trails to see weirdly shaped natural rocks and trees. Sustainable travel

We will be back in the city around 6 pm - 7 pm. Drop you off where you want to. End of the tour. Thank you very much for traveling with us. Sustainable travel
